Regency Living Development

We’re dealing with a lot of different issues with Regency at the moment, many of them linked to the development team, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to manage. We met this morning with representatives from eight other Regency parks, and the general feeling was the same across the board - so it’s clear these challenges aren’t unique to us.

A new concern has also come up. Just over a year ago, we met with Regency’s Planning team at head office to go through all our worries about the touring‑field development. We pointed out that the submitted plans didn’t even acknowledge Meadow View, which meant the documents sent to the Planning Authority were incomplete and potentially misleading. We also showed them Royale Life’s own newsletter, which stated that no one at Dunton would be affected because they had “other land” available - a promise that has since proven to be untrue.

We’ve now been told that all traffic will enter the new site via Meadow View and exit through the old bin‑store area at the top of Orchard View. Neither route is suitable, but we’re being told this is their final decision.

We contacted Basildon Council to raise these issues, but Regency’s head of planning is now denying the assurances he gave us at that meeting last year - despite the fact it was minuted and witnessed by me, the Chair, and Lisa, who was site manager at the time.

Our patience with Regency Living is wearing thin and we're getting tired of being lied to. So we're preparing to escalate this formally - we've simply had enough.
