A few people have asked if we can explain, in plain English, the Regency letter doing the rounds about yearly pitch‑fee increases, so here it is.

Once a year, park home sites are allowed to increase the pitch fee by the current CPI rate (ours is April).

If we don’t agree with the increase, we can take it to a pitch‑fee tribunal and ask a judge to decide whether the increase is fair.

A tribunal can take months - the last one we did took over a year - and while it’s ongoing, we don’t have to pay the increase.

All Regency’s letter is saying is this:

To avoid confusion in future, if anyone challenges the April pitch‑fee increase, they will still show the disputed amount on your monthly pitch‑fee statement for transparency, but you don’t need to pay it until the tribunal is finished.

And just to be clear: the company has to strike a balance. They can’t call it arrears, because it isn’t. But if they don’t show it at all, and someone loses a tribunal, residents need to know what they owe backdated. Showing it on the statement (but not requiring payment) is simply their way of keeping the numbers straight.
