We were surprised to see the planning application from Regency dropping on doormats.

Gary and I will be conducting a thorough review of this in the coming week, but we already have several concerns that we'll be raising with the office immediately.

Lack of Consultation

The residents' association is disappointed that we were not consulted as required.

Furthermore, pre-application advice from the council highlighted concerns and recommended "a comprehensive community engagement strategy be undertaken in advance of any submission"

This advice has been ignored. No engagement took place—not even the basic courtesy of informing residents that an application had been submitted.

Inaccurate Site Plan

The submitted site plan is outdated and does not reflect recent developments such as Meadow View.

The plan still shows a car park to the west of Orchard View, which has since been converted into five residential park homes.

The plan proposes vehicle and pedestrian access to the new site through this car park, which no longer exists.

These discrepancies raise further concerns about the accuracy and feasibility of the proposal. While most of us are not opposed to new homes in principle—especially since the old storage area is an eyesore that many would welcome being redeveloped.

This application presents several serious issues—issues that, had we been properly consulted, we could have worked with the company to resolve beforehand. However, as things stand, we have been given no opportunity for collaboration, leaving us with no choice but to formally object.
